Isn’t seeing actual life improvement the best antidepressant medication?
…otherwise, what’s the pill do, make you say "My, I feel so much happier now" regardless of whether or not you see actual evidence around you that things are "getting better"?
Yes, seeing actual life improvement is the best remedy for depression.
And THAT is what the medication helps you do. It helps you see things as they are, rather than allowing other negative things in life cloud your judgement. When you see things in a more positive light, it makes you feel better.
I am a strong advocate of taking meds in conjuntion with seeing a therapist. Your therapist can teach you some "tricks" to help you think more positively. That, along with medication, is a win-win situation.
There is no shame in taking medicine for depression. It is a medical condition just like any other. If you had arthritis, would you be ashamed to take your aspirin every day? Of course not! Be thankful that you have doctors who are smart enough to recognise your condition and know how to treat it.
Good luck.

it probably can’t hurt….alot of it is how they see life….not actual life.

Actually changing your diet to a more omega 3 enriched one is the best antidepressant cure.2 years after i started the omega 3 diet not once did i feel depressed and/or stressed among many other symptoms.Drugs only provide temporary improvement.A very expensive one.I have stopped using medication a long time ago.Changing your diet to a more healthier one is all you really need to change your life for the better and always have a good mood.
