It doesn't matter what form of vitamins you take, 2 important factors determine its effectiveness and how fast you will feel it's working for you: 1 is absorption 2 is potency

I would only prefer Isotonix line whenever it is available because it's the only isotonic form of supplements in the market that provides superior absorption rate that other form cannot beat.

In order to form pills, filling, binding, etc. needs to be added, these are waste to our body and increase digestion time.

In additions, no matter if we drink, eat or take pills, everything need to be broken down into isotonic solution in our stomach first before our body can absorb. Stomach is very high acidic, thus most of the nutrients are destroyed in our stomach before reaching small intestine for absorption. So with pill form, you are looking for absorption rate of about 10 to 40% depending on our body's digestion ability and the ingredients to form the pills. Please keep in mind that human's digestion ability decease by age.

With Isotonix line, since it's in isotonic form by adding certain amount of water to one capful of powder (it tastes great too!), vitamin won't stay in stomach and will go to intestine within 5 minutes so you are looking for absorption rate of 90% and higher, higher absorption rate even compare to IV injection.

No filling or binding are added to the Isotonix line so you are guarantee to have best potency for the vitamin you take.

Many nuts contain various vitamin B and they are essential for our nerve system thus helps relieve depression symptoms. However, how much nuts you can eat to get the vitamin B values for your body to work depending on your digestion ability. With Isotonix line, there's no guessing because digestion is not required at all.

Check out the Isotonix vitamin B and vitmamin C if you want to achieve faster and better results.
References :
product specialist

Depression can be overcome with vitamins. Vitamin c is good but there are more important ones to look into. The B-vitamins are excellent for depression. They made me feel better but they do take time for your body to get used to them. Maybe 2-3 weeks and you will notice improvements. Vitamin B12 helped me majorly with depression. I take 2mg of methyl-b12 sublingually everyday and I can definetly notice this one making me feel a million times better. Take a b-complex with extra b12 and you will feel alot better. Magnesium is another mineral that helps me alot with anxiety and negative thoughts. As for the fish oils (omega-3) i tried them a while back and all they did was cause me anxiety. I dont find fish oils helpful to me but alot of people disagree so maybe its just for some and not for others. But regardless they are good for your health and would be a bonus to take.
References :
Here is short info on a special diet that lifts symptoms of depression:
" * Don’t neglect breakfast. A solid breakfast provides energy for the day.
    * Don’t skip meals. Going too long between meals can make you feel irritable and tired, so aim to eat something at least every 3-4 hours.
    * Minimize sugar and refined carbs. You may crave sugary snacks, baked goods, or comfort foods such as pasta or french fries. But these “feel-good” foods quickly lead to a crash in mood and energy.
    * Focus on complex carbohydrates. Foods such as baked potatoes, whole-wheat pasta, brown rice, oatmeal, whole grain breads, and bananas can boost serotonin levels without a crash.
    * Boost your B vitamins. Deficiencies in B vitamins such as folic acid and B-12 can trigger depression. To get more, take a B-complex vitamin supplement or eat more citrus fruit, leafy greens, beans, chicken, and eggs.
    * Consider taking a chromium supplement – Some depression studies show that chromium picolinate reduces carbohydrate cravings, eases mood swings, and boosts energy. Supplementing with chromium picolinate is especially effective for people who tend to overeat and oversleep when depressed. Aim for 600 mcg per day.
    * Practice mindful eating. Slow down and pay attention to the full experience of eating. Enjoy the taste of your food

Omega-3 fatty acids play an essential role in stabilizing mood.

    * Foods rich in certain omega-3 fats called EPA and DHA can give your mood a big boost. The best sources are fatty fish such salmon, herring, mackerel, anchovies, sardines, and some cold water fish oil supplements. Canned albacore tuna and lake trout can also be good sources depending on how the fish were raised and processed.
    * You may hear a lot about getting your omega-3’s from foods rich in ALA fatty acids. Main sources are vegetable oils and nuts (especially walnuts), flax, soybeans, and tofu. Be aware that our bodies generally convert very little ALA into EPA and DHA, so you may not as big of a benefit.
    * Some people avoid seafood because they worry about mercury or other possible toxins. But most experts agree that the benefits of eating 2 servings a week of cold water fatty fish outweigh the risks."

It takes 4-6 weeks for antidepressants to take effect. With food it might take longer, but it doesn't have adverse effects and it improves your overall health. If your symptoms are severe, I'd recommend to see a therapist first.
References :
http://helpguide.org/mental/depression_tips.htm

The only supplement with any strong evidence for relieving depression is cod liver oil. Some people say vitamin B complex deficiencies contribute to depression, but there is no evidence that giving high synthetic dosages actually relieves it, unless someone is in a significantly malnourished state.
